Before you learn the kettlebell clean, you should be familiar with the kettlebell deadlift and one arm swing!
The clean seems to be a little more challenging than the snatch to learn (IMO and likely due to turning the dial down a bit from a swing), but I still always prefer students know how to swing, then clean and then snatch.
