Kettlebell Fundamentals Workshop

Gain confidence. Master the kettlebell. Train without pain!

Learn the six foundational kettlebell skills and be ready to start training like a pro. This workshop is led by Renah Jones, StrongFirst Level 2 Certified Kettlebell Instructor and owner of Dragonfly Fitness and Black Dog Fitness.

What will you get out of this workshop?

After taking this course, attendees will be able to:

  • Demonstrate correct set-up and form for the six foundational kettlebell skills including: single and double kettlebell deadlifts, two-handed swings and single arm swings, get-up, goblet squats and front squats, single arm cleans, and single arm and double military presses.

  • Explain and understand the muscles used for each movement.

  • Train or build a program using the correct progressions or regressions.

  • Detect, correct and demonstrate common form mistakes.

  • Learn to address and eliminate back, knee and shoulder pain.

  • Use specific drills and cues to build the skill.

Who should attend?

Whether you are a beginner using kettlebells, an experienced kettlebell enthusiast who feels back pain or a coach looking for more formal training…this workshop is for you! The Kettlebell Fundamental Workshop will help you (or your clients) get stronger, prevent injuries and continue to train for many years to come.

 

All attendees will benefit from learning how to build a strong foundation with the press to improve their get-ups, snatches and windmills, and for the deadlift to improve their swings, cleans and snatches. We will also discuss how kettlebells can be incorporated into your barbell training for increased strength.

Attendees will work with a partner to practice observational and coaching skills.

 

Information for Coaches

This course is approved by ACE, NASM and AFAA. Coaches can earn continuing education credits or units (CEC/CEU). Certificates will be emailed after the workshop.

Kettlebells for a Cause

Your participation in this kettlebell workshop supports a great cause! A portion of all workshop sales will be donated to local animal rescue organizations.

About the Instructor

 

I’m Renah Jones! As a StrongFirst Level 2 Certified Kettlebell Instructor and owner of Dragonfly Fitness and Black Dog Fitness, I understand the importance of learning the details of utilizing and coaching kettlebell movements. 

 

In fact, I was coaching some of these movements INCORRECTLY until I went to my first StrongFirst certification! Now, as a result of my efforts and education, I have clients who swing a kettlebell and move through a get-up better than many coaches.
